You can take a nice 3 day cruise for under $1000 for the two of you. Or look for smaller coastal towns. They aren’t very touristy so they prices are more reasonable. Try Treasure Island FL and surrounding areas.

I think you will find easier to get in and out of the Cessna, as it has doors on both sides. The Cherokee only has on door, on the passenger’s side. I’m 6′ 0″ 240lb, and find crawling in to the pilots seat awkward. I think the Cessna’s cabin is a bit taller as well. The high wing / low wing issue is not much of a concern – the Cessna has better visibility downward, but also tends to feel less closed in than the Piper, as it has windows all around.

How many humpback whales could Oprah buy? I saw a skit on one of Dane Cook’s comedy shows about Oprah, and he mentioned her giving away whales. I know this was just a joke, but I wonder if she could actually afford to buy a whale, and if so, how many?

I loved going on my first cruise with my honey. It was a three day weekend cruise to Nassau in the Bahamas and Cococay, a private island Royal Caribbean has that is like a desert island – very cool. We’re planning our eighth cruise now.
